Most projects don't come apart over technology. They come apart because two people held different pictures in their heads and nobody thought to check. My working habit is to go and find the person who is stuck — and stay with the problem until it is actually resolved, not merely passed along.
That instinct is what I brought into education technology. At Go2Core Learn Engine LLP we work on something that sounds dry until you see it up close: making learning standards machine-readable. When material is properly aligned to a framework, a teacher can see exactly what a chapter covers, a parent can see what their child is meant to master, and a platform can map it without anyone retyping a thing. Competency instead of seat time.
The rest of my week goes to two consulting engagements in very different sectors — an online application for a cleaning services business in the UAE, and digital marketing strategy for a hospitality company. Different worlds, same underlying job: work out what someone actually needs, then make sure the people building it know.
I also keep the hardware running. I own IT assets across Go2Core — specifying machines, maintaining them, making sure nobody loses a working day to a laptop. I used to blog at Tom's Hardware and I still read spec sheets for pleasure.

I mix easily with people at every level, and when someone is blocked I treat it as mine to help resolve — with intensity, and with care for the person on the other side of it.
Translating between business owners, developers and marketers is most of the work. I make sure everyone is describing the same thing before anyone starts building it.
